Behavioral Health Care Job Openings

Pinnacle Behavioral Health, Inc. (PBH) provides behavioral health services to Huntsville and surrounding areas. PBH programs are accredited by The Joint Commission and AdvancED/SACS. Programs include the Elk River Treatment Program (ERTP and The Pinnacle Schools which serves boys and girls ages 12 - 18 and grades 6 - 12. PBH also offers a Virtual School Program to any individual that wishes to earn a high school diploma.

Elk River Treatment Program (ERTP) is a therapeutic residential treatment program that specializes in treating individuals with emotional, behavioral and/or substance abuse issues. While in our program, boys and girls in grades 6 - 12 continue their education through our AdvancED accredited school.

Other programs are The Pinnacle Schools, Pinnacle Private Academy and Pinnacle Virtual School. The Academy is a college-prep, therapeutic day school for grades 6 - 12 located in Huntsville, AL. Individual learning plans are developed for each student. Supported by Highly Qualified/State Certified educators, students may work at their own pace and attend half day academic only or full day with weekly mental health care services as needed. The Virtual School is designed for any student that has not completed his/her high school courses and wishes to earn a high school diploma.

PBH also provides outpatient counseling services for children, adolescents and adults. PBH incorporates treatment and intervention techniques to increase the strengths and resources of each patient and family. Outpatient counseling is delivered by licensed providers with strong credentials and clinical experience in child, adolescent and adult behavioral health.

Substance Abuse Counselor

Pinnacle Behavioral Health is seeking a full time Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) to provide direct service to adolescents.  

Qualifications: Must hold a state certification in substance abuse (CSAC) or equivalent certification and experience working with individuals with substance use disorders. Must be experienced in providing individual and group counseling in addition to working successfully as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team. 

Key Responsibilities: Include assessment, treatment planning, documentation of progress in treatment, case management, and coordination of treatment with other entities, transition, discharge and aftercare planning.  

Supervisor - Youth Behavioral Health Specialist

The Supervisor is responsible for oversight, supervision, and guidance of direct care staff at our 60- bed residential treatment program for adolescents. The Supervisor is responsible for assisting the implementation of the behavior management system, the daily schedule, and safety of the program.  Supervisors carry out all job responsibilities with fidelity and accountability to the Mission, Vision, Values, Guiding Principles, and Strategic Plan of Elk River Treatment Program. The ideal candidate will have experience in residential treatment and supervision.  

Qualifications: At least 2 years of experience in the treatment industry and one year supervisory experience.  A Bachelor’s Degree in the Social Services field is preferred. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supervision of the direct care staff in a residential, therapeutic program for boys and girls, ages 12 – 18, with emotional, behavioral, psychiatric and substance abuse issues.
  • Responsible for assisting in the training and supervision of direct care staff.
  • Promotes health, safety and confidentiality of individuals served.    
  • Responsible for assisting with the implementation of the behavioral management system, daily schedule and supervision of residents.
  • Provides on call and emergency response support.

Youth Behavioral Health Specialist

Transform lives and become a role model to boys and girls ages 12 - 18 while receiving some of the best training in the industry. As a youth behavioral health specialist, you will support our young clients by overseeing the implementation of individualized treatment plans, ensuring that residents are safe at all times and supervise daily activities to ensure proper coordination of residents' routines and initiatives. We have day and night shift positions available.

Requirements: Bachelors level degree in Social Sciences, Criminal Justice, or related field. Training/ benefits/Proven history of excellent staff retention.

Middle and High School Teacher

We are seeking a Highly Qualified Math teacher. Learning plans are individualized for our students and they complete work at an independent workstation with close supervision of teachers and direct care staff. At times students may work at their own pace, but receive one-on-one instruction as needed. All academics programs of Pinnacle Behavioral Health are AdvancED accredited.
