Pinnacle Virtual Private Academy
Providing Virtual School since 2006
Pinnacle Private Academy is a tuition-based, private virtual school for students in grades 6 - 12. The school is accredited by Cognia (formerly AdvancED) as a college prep school. Highly Qualified, State Certified teachers ensure that our students excel (some for the first time).
What sets Pinnacle Private Academy apart from other online schools?
Pinnacle meets the student where he or she is. It's as simple as that. A student enrolling at the Academy is given comprehensive diagnostic assessments to help determine proficiencies and areas that require remediation. Results of the assessments allow our experienced staff to develop an individualized learning plan that sets our students on a course to succeed academically, socially and emotionally. Credit evaluation, academic counseling and college and career counseling are also provided.
Students can register for one class, one semester, or complete their high school requirements and graduate with Pinnacle. Students may work at their own pace by accelerating or slowing down as needed.
Pinnacle Private Academy provides students with core classes and electives, and most importantly, support from qualified instructors. Many online programs simply make the curriculum available for students to navigate on their own. Tutoring and proctoring are an additional expense. Pinnacle supports its students by providing teachers who have extensive experience with online curriculums and proctors to oversee testing. These services are included in our monthly fee of $450.
Pinnacle follows the Alabama High School Course of Study. Our specialists will help your student plan his or her high school classes to fulfill the requirements for graduation.

Benefits of Virtual Schools
Prior to COVID 19 and the following pandemic of 2020, attending school was generally subject to restrictions of geography, income (public or private school), and sheer luck of being assigned to a class with a stellar teacher. Virtual schools are breaking these barriers. Virtual schools appeal to many types of students:
- Those that live outside of their chosen school district
- Those that struggle with health or mental health issues that prevent them from attending school
- Those with specific learning challenges that require them to spend more time on more difficult subjects
- Those that may need supplementary classes in order to graduate on time
Students enrolled in Pinnacle Virtual Private Academy receive customized learning plans and instruction from Highly Qualified Teachers. Our students learn at a pace that is tailored to their learning styles. Other benefits include:
- Access to Highly Qualified Teachers regardless of student's location
- Potential to improve productivity
- Increased flexibility for students to accelerate or slow down in subjects. Virtual learning meets students where they are academically and emotionally. It can reduce or eliminate sensory overload.
- Eliminates classroom stigma when a student has fallen behind in classwork.
